I'd like to know what to do about this one. I'm trying some photoshop stuff and I think this is what I'm looking for in my photo's colors. Now, I think I may have overdone it, and I'd like to know if this is... acceptable?
Straight up; 1.- I'd like you to critique the colors on this one compared to the other. Are they too exagerated? Maybe I darkened them too much? Any other comment on this would be appreciated. 2.- Is this level of retouching too much? Maybe it's a personal decition, but I'd like you to tell me as well. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. I think it really depends on what mood you want to depict. The original image is much brighter and happier in a way while the retouched version looks more deserted and foreboding to me. I think either is fine, though maybe I would light up the sign just a little bit on the second version.

I think that mood you want to depict would decide which version is better (like what Raischuu said). This one is much more dramatic and bold compared to the other one, if anything, try brightening the signs a little.
